Pigs Seek Olympic Glory
17 April 2007
Pigs may not be able to fly, but they can play football, swim, dive and even race. The 3rd Olympic Games for pigs has taken place in Moscow Russia. 12 Pigs took part in the "Pig Olympics" which included events such as Pig-Swimming and Pig-Ball. The events has attracted tousands of spectators, many of whom make bets on the pigs.
Pig-Ball one of the events that the specially bred minature pigs took part in was a special version of football. However to encourage the pigs to play they had the ball covered in fish oil.
I was wondering if after the event if they would be serving bacon butties made from the losing pigs. However it would seem that isn't the case.
Alexei Sharshkov, vice-president of the Sport-Pig Federation, which has around 100 members, said the pigs would not be ending up on anyone's dinner table.
"They go on to produce a new generation of sport pigs. They don't get eaten," he said. "How could you eat a competitor who is known around the world?"

Politicians + Sport = eh?
12 April 2007
You would have thought that just about being able to run a country would mean that politicians are fairly intelligent. Wrong.
Why is it that whenever people like Bush or Blair visit sporting places they deem it necessary to join in? You would have thought that after the many other failed attempts they would have worked out that all they'll end up doing is making complete fools out of themselves.
$218 Trillion Phone Bill
11 April 2007
A Malaysian man said he nearly fainted when he recieved a $218 trillion phone bill and was ordered to pay up within 10 days. Mr Wahab said he disconnected his late father's phone line in January after he died and settled the $23 bill, the New Straits Times reported.
But Telekom Malaysia later sent him a 806,400,000,000,000.01 ringgit ($218 trillion) bill for recent telephone calls along with orders to settle within 10 days or face legal proceedings, the newspaper reported!
It wasn't clear whether the bill was a mistake, or if Yahaya's father's phone line was used illegally after after his death.
"If the company wants to seek legal action as mentioned in the letter, I'm ready to face it," the paper quoted Yahaya as saying. "In fact, I can't wait to face it," he said.
Yahaya, from northern Kedah state, received a notice from the company's debt-collection agency in early April, the paper said. Government-linked Telekom Malaysia Bhd. is the country's largest telecommunications company. A company official, who declined to be identified as she was not authorized to speak to the media, said Telekom Malaysia was aware of Yahaya's case and would address it. She did not provide further details.
I would sure be ticked off if i got a phone bill for that much!
Domain Problems
1 April 2007
We are currently having some problems with the banjofence.net domain. For some reason it hasn't been renewed, so currently you cannot access the site through it.
This may mean that some areas of the site now do not function correctly. We're working as quickly as we can to sort out this problem. Sorry for any problems caused. You can of course still access the site (how else would you be here?) with our other domain http://www.banjofence.com
EDIT: OK, the domain problem has been resolved and www.banjofence.net now works again! Yay!

Please ignore the GIANT blank space below this blog, I got a bit to hasty with the delete key and now don't have much to fill the gap at the moment. However within the next few days expect that gap to be filled!
Perhaps a picture of Mr Blobby in shakespeare will make it look better?
Perhaps Not...
